Night Audit
Position Summary
The Night Auditor is responsible for overseeing the front desk operations during overnight hours while ensuring the accuracy of daily financial transactions. This role combines guest service with accounting responsibilities, playing a key part in delivering a seamless guest experience and maintaining the integrity of hotel reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Guest Services
- Greet and assist guests during overnight hours with check-ins, check-outs, and requests
- Provide a high level of personalized service consistent with The Ashbrook Hotel brand
- Handle guest inquiries, concerns, and late-night requests professionally and efficiently
Night Audit & Accounting
- Perform nightly audit procedures to reconcile daily transactions, including room revenue, payments, and adjustments
- Balance cash drawers, credit card reports, and other financial records
- Generate and distribute daily reports to management
- Ensure all postings and charges are accurate and properly documented
Operations & Safety
- Maintain a secure and quiet environment throughout the hotel during overnight hours
- Conduct periodic property walks and monitor for safety or maintenance issues
- Coordinate with housekeeping and maintenance teams for early morning needs
- Prepare the front desk and reports for the morning shift
Qualifications
- Previous front desk, hospitality, or accounting experience preferred
- Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy
- Ability to work independently and handle overnight responsibilities with minimal supervision
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable with hotel management systems (PMS) and basic accounting functions
Schedule & Availability
- Overnight shifts (typically 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
- Must be available for weekends and holidays
